About this project
In this project, we performed a major repair and refinishing job in a home, focusing on the kitchen area and the space near the kitchen. The hardwood flooring in this area was severely damaged, with black stains, water damage, and other issues. To restore the space, we removed approximately 180 square feet of damaged flooring, replaced it with new hardwood, and repaired the subfloor as needed.
Additionally, we removed the balustrades from the staircase to refinish both the steps and the hardwood floors throughout the entire house. The refinishing process included sanding and restoring all the hardwood from the downstairs area up to the top floor, including the staircase and balustrades. Once the refinishing was complete, we reinstalled the balustrades to bring the project to a perfect finish.

Challenge in this project
The biggest challenge in this project was ensuring the repaired flooring seamlessly matched the existing hardwood throughout the home. Since we were refinishing the floors with a light color, it required precision and expertise to make the repaired section blend perfectly. The result was flawless—so much so that it’s impossible to tell where the repair was made.
Another challenge was carefully removing the wood balusters and handrails without damaging them. This process required extreme care and attention, as these components are delicate and essential to the overall design. Despite these challenges, the project was completed with 100% customer satisfaction, delivering beautiful and durable results.
