About this project
In this project, we addressed significant subfloor damage that had caused the hardwood flooring to feel unstable and unsafe. The subfloor was rotten, and it was clear that immediate repair was necessary as the flooring was at risk of collapsing.
To resolve this, we removed approximately 180 square feet of damaged hardwood flooring to access and replace the subfloor. Once the subfloor was repaired, we reinstalled the hardwood flooring using a glue-down method for enhanced stability and durability. This method ensured a secure and long-lasting installation with no movement or gaps.
After installation, we refinished the flooring to restore its natural beauty. This included sanding, staining, and applying three coats of Bona Mega polyurethane for a durable and polished finish.
The result is a perfectly repaired and refinished floor that looks stunning and feels safe and solid underfoot.
Challenge in this project
The primary challenge in this project was removing the damaged flooring and subfloor without causing further disruption to the surrounding structure. Replacing the subfloor required precision to ensure it was stable and properly leveled.
An additional challenge was reinstalling the hardwood flooring with a flawless fit. It required meticulous attention to detail to ensure there were no gaps between the planks, resulting in a seamless and professional finish. Despite these challenges, the project was completed successfully, delivering a solid and beautifully restored floor.
